Everything you need to understand YSKAIPE's AutoQuote system — how we calculate rates, what the AI returns, and how to get the most accurate estimates.
YSKAIPE is a home services cost intelligence platform. Our AutoQuote tool uses Claude AI (by Anthropic) to generate instant standard cost estimates for home repair and improvement jobs based on verified NC 2026 industry rates.
The goal is simple: give every homeowner the knowledge they need to make a fair decision before any work begins. Whether you want to DIY, negotiate with a contractor, or just know if a quote is reasonable — YSKAIPE gives you the baseline.
Navigate to the AutoQuote section. Select your trade, enter your ZIP code, and describe the job in plain English. The more detail you provide, the more accurate your estimate will be.
YSKAIPE returns a standard cost estimate within seconds, broken down into labor and materials ranges, with a plain-English explanation of what drives the cost.
From your estimate, you can go two directions:
YSKAIPE estimates are based on verified NC 2026 residential trade rates, compiled from industry data, regional labor surveys, and material cost indexes.
Our labor baseline is $95–$160/hr depending on trade, complexity, and region within NC. Specialty trades (HVAC, electrical, EV infrastructure) sit at the higher end. General labor and painting typically fall at the lower end.
Material costs are estimated using current retail pricing from major home improvement suppliers. These figures reflect what a homeowner would pay at retail — contractors may pay less wholesale.
The Claude AI model applies regional context within NC — Charlotte metro, Triangle, Triad, and coastal markets each have slight cost variations that are factored into estimates when a ZIP code is provided.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Trade / Role required | The type of contractor the job requires. Selecting the right trade improves estimate accuracy significantly. |
| Location (ZIP) optional | Your ZIP code. Used to apply regional rate adjustments within NC. Defaults to NC regional average if omitted. |
| Home Size / Scope optional | Square footage or scope descriptor (e.g. "2,400 sq ft single-family"). Helps calibrate material quantities and labor time. |
| Job Description required | Plain English description of the problem or job. Be specific — include symptoms, what's broken, approximate age of the home, and any known constraints. |
| Name & Email optional | For email delivery of your quote only. Never required. Never used for marketing. |
The AutoQuote returns a structured estimate with the following fields:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Labor | Standard labor cost range for the job based on trade rates and estimated time. |
| Materials | Estimated cost of materials at retail pricing. |
| Total Standard | Combined labor + materials midpoint. This is the fair market reference figure. |
| Timeline | Estimated job duration for a professional. |
| Breakdown | 3–4 sentence plain English explanation of what drives the cost and any regional factors. |
When you click DIY This Job, YSKAIPE generates a full DIY playbook including:
DIY savings shown reflect the labor cost avoided — materials still apply.
Every DIY report includes a Shop Materials section that links each required material directly to Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowe's search results.
Links are generated automatically from the AI's materials list — no manual curation. Product names are optimized for retail search to surface the most relevant results.
YSKAIPE's cost intelligence is powered by Claude, developed by Anthropic. Claude is one of the most capable and safety-focused AI models available. We chose Anthropic as our AI partner because their values — honesty, transparency, and genuine helpfulness — align directly with YSKAIPE's mission.
When you submit a quote, your job description is sent to Anthropic's API. Claude parses the job against our rate data and returns a structured JSON estimate. Your data is handled under Anthropic's privacy policy and is not used to train their models without consent.
YSKAIPE estimates are reference figures, not binding quotes. Actual costs vary based on:
In our testing, YSKAIPE estimates fall within 15–25% of actual contractor quotes for clearly described standard jobs. Complex or ambiguous jobs will have wider ranges.
YSKAIPE's pro matching surfaces vetted local professionals when a job is too complex or risky for DIY. Matched pros are background-checked members of the YSKAIPE network who agree to transparent, fair pricing standards.
You always receive your standard cost estimate before seeing pro results — so you walk into every conversation knowing the fair rate.
Are you a licensed NC home service professional who believes in fair, transparent pricing? YSKAIPE is building a network of vetted contractors who want to win jobs on quality and honesty — not information asymmetry.
